Reinhard vra, "Wie is die grootste een"
Haai daar,
Dis my eerste bydrae op hierdie webtuiste en ek sou graag jul menings wil weet. ’n Paar dae gelede het ek op ’n baie interessante lys neergekom wat die beroemdste of belangrykste mense van Suid-Afrika behels en deur SABC bekend gestel is. Derduisende mense het met foonoproepe, vonkposbriewe ens. deelgeneem, om hierdie „Wie is wie“ tot stand te bring. Die idee kom oorspronklik van Britanje af en is ook in ander lande nageboots. In Duitsland het die eerste kanselier van Wesduitsland die meeste stemme ingepalm, twede was Martin Luther. Die SA-rangskikking is maar baie merkwaardig, omstrede en het glo groot lawaai versoorsaak. Maar hierdie lys van name wys net die verdeeldheid en verskeidenheid van die SA-samelewing. Die naamlys is uit Wikipedia ontneem.

Dankie vir jou bydrae. Na 'n afwesigheid van 'n paar weke is ek nou weer terug en wil graag die BLOG bietjie spoed gee.
Die 'Wie is Wie' lys is nogal interessant en wys verseker die diversiteit van ons Suid-Afrikaanse samelewing. Elkeen sal seker sy of haar kommentaar hê oor wie op die lys behoort te verskyn en wie nie. Vir my is daar 'n paar name van wie ek nog nooit gehoor het nie, wat die punt bewys.
In die teenwoordigheid van werklike grotes soos Nelson Mandela, Chris Barnard, Paul Kruger, en ander, sou ek persoonlik nie name soos Jeremy Mansfield, Leon Schuster, Nkosozana Dhlamini-Zuma, Felicia Mabuza-Suttle, en Charlize Theron op die lys wou sien nie ; maar dit is maar my eie opinie. Name op hierdie lys behoort tog 'n substansiële bydrae tot die politiek, ekonomie, kultuur, sport, of ander gemeenskapsdinamiek gemaak het - sodanige bydrae mag wel positief of negatief wees. Ter voorbeeld sou mens dalk na iemand soos Stalin kan verwys in die konteks van 'n twintigste eeuse rolspeler, maar nie noodwendig in 'n positiewe lig nie.
Ek vermoed dat 'n klompie van die name deur een of ander grapgat genomineer is, en toe deur ondersteunende stemme die top-100 lys gemaak het. Dit is nogal snaaks dat Naas Botha dit nie op die lys gemaak het nie.
Interessant genoeg sou ek ook gedink het dat name soos André P. Brink en Breyten Breytenbach die lys sou haal.
Maar dat die meeste van die mense op die lys wel een of ander nalatenskap en impak op die groei en ontwikkeling van Suid-Afrika, hoe mens ook al daarna kyk, gehad het, is onbetwyfelbaar.
